DP1 Foundation Courses 2027
🌱 Finish DP1 with stronger foundations for the year ahead 🌱
Our DP1 Foundation Courses are two-day subject courses designed specifically for students nearing the end of their first IB year.
The goal is to consolidate the most important knowledge and skills from DP1, address gaps before they grow and help students begin DP2 with greater confidence and a stronger academic foundation.
These courses are not designed as final-exam crash courses. Instead, they focus on understanding, application and strengthening the core skills students will continue to rely on throughout DP2.
Details
- Two days of intensive in-person teaching.
- Small groups with up to 7 students per teacher.
- Structured review of important DP1 content and skills.
- Guided application and IB-style practice.
- Opportunity to identify and address individual knowledge gaps.
- Relevant IB Academy study materials are used throughout the course.
- Lunch, snacks, coffee and tea are provided.
- Courses are held at IB Academy in Utrecht.
- Courses will be confirmed after receiving at least 3 registrations.
Who are the Foundation Courses for?
These courses are specifically designed for DP1 students.
They are ideal for students who:
- want to consolidate what they have learned during their first IB year
- feel that certain topics or skills are not yet fully secure
- want to avoid carrying knowledge gaps into DP2
- would benefit from structured revision before the summer
- want to begin their second IB year feeling more confident and prepared
The Foundation Courses provide an opportunity to step back, organise what you have learned and strengthen the concepts and skills that will matter most as you move into DP2.
